If you're like me, you probably have hundreds of bookmarks of favorite websites, blogs, or webpages that you've collected over the years. And if you're like me, you've tried to organize them using the standard facilities given to you by web browsers -- namely into folders -- and promptly failed. In fact, the problem of organizing my bookmarks had gotten so out of hand that I had recently started avoiding bookmarking altogether for fear of making my collection even larger.

There are many ways of organizing your bookmarks and probably the most popular (and obvious) method is through the use of folders. While on the surface it sounds like a great idea, it quickly becomes cumbersome. Its main strength in categorizing also becomes its main weakness: you're forced to categorize everything you bookmark and, more often than not, something belongs to more than one category. Some people suggest making bookmarks of the same page in multiple folders to combat this, but that becomes even more of a mess when you're tasked with cleaning up your bookmarks and removing them altogether.
